Overview & Case Management

Each participant is expected to actively listen, provide appropriate interaction, including self-disclosure and acceptance of personal responsibility for behavior. 

The CHOICE Domestic Violence program is 26-52 weeks in duration and the Anger Management program is 12-26 weeks in duration.  CHOICE honors the order of the courts as it relates to a specific number of sessions.  2 hour sessions are held weekly.  Consumers CANNOT be more than 15 minutes late and must remain for the full session to receive credit.  If a participant is more than 10 minutes late, he or she will NOT be permitted to attend. 

  PROBATION & REPORTING

*Participants are expected to attend weekly, as required by the court order.  It is further expected that the participant is sober, awake and provides active participation.  As we apply Best Practice models, one of them being based on Consequential Thinking, if a client has two consecutive absences, he or she will be terminated from the CHOICE agency and reinstated upon their return.  If there is another 2 wk absence, a 2nd reinstatement will be required at the request of the probation officer and sessions paid IN FULL (payment arrangements are available).  3rd re-instatement, after 4 week absence client will be required to be re-admitted (START OVER).  Absences 90 days or more, client FORFEITS ALL PRIOR PAYMENTS WITH SOME EXCEPTIONS.  There are (NO CASH REFUNDS/NO EXCEPTIONS).  (ALL MATTERS RELATING TO FEES ARE AT THE DISCRETION OF THE ADMINISTRATION AND SUBJECT TO BE MODIFIED BASED ON JUDICIAL REQUESTS). 

*CHOICE provides a report the first week of every month to each participants' probation officer.  The report includes the attendees' participation or lack thereof.  It also addresses if a participant appeared to be under the influence of any substance.  If a consumer has violated our attendance policy, the report will indicate that the consumer was terminated for that reason.

* CHOICE makes every effort to deliver reports in person to the courts.  We find that this allows for an even greater interaction with the probation officers regarding the attendees' participation.  Reports can also be obtained by probation officers on our website with password protection.
